Telephone Request Form -- Student
Use this form to activate your campus telephone extension. Campus extensions may be reached off campus by dialing 626.395.xxxx, where 'xxxx' is your four-digit extension.
NOTICE
All student rooms have a private phone hookup. The phone jacks in the South Houses (Fleming, Dabney, Ricketts and Blacker) are active. To use the line in your room, purchase an analog phone set (available at Target and other local merchants) and plug it into the telephone jack.
For the North Houses (Page, Lloyd, Ruddock and Marks/Braun) and Avery, a telephone number will be assigned upon request, once you have a permanent room assignment. When rotation is complete, submit this form and an extension will be assigned to your room. Analog phones may be purchased from Target and other local merchants. Plug the phone into the telephone jack.
For all student houses, to learn your extension, dial “0” between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. and ask the switchboard operator to tell you the number you are calling from. Please note, these extensions are assigned to the room and will not be moved when a student changes rooms. There is no charge for local phone service. If you choose not to get your own telephone line, hallway phones are available for use. Caltech’s area code and prefix are 626-395.
