Directory Lookup Configuration for Apple Mail

Apple Mail

1.  Within Apple Mail (Leopard), click the “Mail” menu, then “Preferences…”.

2.  Click the “Composing” icon.  Verify the “Automatically complete addresses” box is checked, then click the “Configure LDAP…” button.

 
3.  A window will appear, empty if you have never added an LDAP server before.  Click the “+” button.

 
4.  On the “Server Info” window, enter the following information:
    Name:  your preference
    Server:  directory.caltech.edu
    Port:  389
    Search Base:  ou=people,ou=imss,o=caltech,c=us
Leave the other fields at their default values.  Click the “Save” button.

 
5.  Click “Done” to acknowledge that you’ve successfully added the LDAP server.
