Microsoft is ending support for Exchange Web Services (EWS), a technology used primarily by non-Microsoft applications to connect to Exchange and access email and calendar services.
To help minimize disruption, IMSS will whitelist EWS access for an additional six months. This temporary extension is intended to provide email application developers time to release updates that support Microsoft's newer connection methods.
What you need to know:
If you use a non-Microsoft email application, such as Evolution, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc. your application will be affected after the EWS transition April 2027. The six-month extension is intended to provide additional time for affected applications to release and deploy updates.
If you use Microsoft Outlook, no action is expected at this time.
If you experience problems accessing your email through your mail client on the morning of Tuesday, 9/22, please contact the IMSS Help Desk at 626-395.3500 for assistance.
We appreciate your patience as we work through this transition and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
