AI Tools at Caltech
IMSS is offering Anthropic Claude for institutional use. It is available in two plans:
- Claude Standard ($20/user/month): provides the same features as Claude Pro with 2x the monthly token allocation
- Claude Premium ($50/user/month): includes Claude Code and 5x the monthly token allocation compared to Claude Pro
Claude can be purchased using a PTA through the Tech Partner Portal located in access.caltech in the Self Service section. access.caltech.edu
IMSS and the Institute continue to evaluate the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and its use within higher education. There are questions particularly around security, privacy, and ethical considerations. This field continues to evolve rapidly and as such we need to continue to evaluate its benefits and risks.
