IMSS will perform network maintenance on Saturday, August 8 from 7AM to 7PM in order to implement a new firewall designed to enhance the security and reliability of the Caltech network.
During this maintenance window, access to many campus applications hosted by IMSS on campus, systems, and online services may be unavailable or experience intermittent connectivity until the work has been completed and services have been verified. We recommend saving any work prior to the start of the maintenance window.
Impacted Services include:
- Shared Drives like; S Drive, H Drive and Network Shared Folders
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
- Advance
- License Servers (i.e., Matlab, SolidWorks, Mathematica, Maple, software.caltech.edu downloads)
- Meridian
Services that will remain available and will NOT be affected:
- Box
- Email (with the exception of Mailman lists)
- Microsoft 365 services
- Oracle related systems for Human Resources and Finance
- Google Services
- High Performance Computing (HPC)
- Zoom
- All cloud related systems
