In an effort to help users save time, in early 2021, Microsoft will be releasing several features as part of Outlook Intelligent Technology. With these features, you will be able to see relevant information you might need to prepare for a meeting directly in the meeting invite, create a meeting faster by clicking on a suggested reply in your conversation, or receive suggestions on where to meet.
These new features will be enabled by default in Outlook Web. However, if needed, you can disable any of these features.
Text Predictions
When you compose or reply to a message Outlook will display text predictions, which you can choose to add to your message.
Quick suggestions
As you compose a message with certain keywords, Outlook will highlight it and suggest more information, such as restaurant or flight information. You can then choose to insert this information in your message.
Suggested replies
When you receive an email that can be answered with a short response, Outlook will suggest three responses (i.e. "Sure", "I'll get back to you", I'm on it") that you can reply with a couple of clicks.
Other responses you may see include:
- "Schedule a meeting", - helps you quickly create a meeting invitation.
- "Attach file" - select it to quickly add an attachment to your response
Meeting Insights
When you view a meeting event in your calendar, Outlook might show you content relevant to the meeting such as messages and files in your mailbox, files in OneDrive, or SharePoint.
Joyful animations
When you open a message with keywords such as "Happy Birthday" or "Congratulations" the message will show a burst of colorful shapes.
