Alumni Email YubiKey Configuration

YubiKey may be used for multi-factor authentication when logging into alumni email accounts. Click here for an overview of YubiKeys and where to purchase.

How to set up your YubiKey

  • To begin setting up your YubiKey, open a web browser and go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/ and sign in with your alumni email credentials.
  • You will see your recent activity

  • Click to expand My Account on the left-hand menu
  • Select Security Info
  • Click "+ Add sign-in method"

  • Choose sign in method "Security Key" and select "USB device"

  • Follow the prompts to plug your security key into the USB port to finish setting up.
  • Create a PIN for the YubiKey. You will need to enter this PIN every time you sign in with your YubiKey, so make it something that you will remember.

  • After the YubiKey is recognized, it is then successfully added to your account. You will then be prompted to name your new YubiKey. A suggested name is "Alumni Account YubiKey".

How to sign in with a YubiKey

  • Enter your alumni email credentials to login and select Security Key when asked to choose a passkey.

  • When prompted, insert your YubiKey, enter your PIN, and touch your security key.
  • Click Yes to stay signed in.
